Save 1 Billion Animals killed for Fashion By Creating 'Leather' from Cactus

Whether you wish it or hate it, you’ve needed to admit, leather products aren’t good for the environment. In fact, consistent with PETA, the worldwide leather industry kills quite a billion animals for his or her skin and hides.

However, what’s even more worrying is that the impact leather has on the environment. Not only the animal from which leather springs consume plenty of water in its lifetime, but after deriving the skin, the treatment process introduces it with plenty of chemicals. This not only is harmful to the environment but also makes the leather item non-biodegradable. Even the faux leather that a lot of vegans love using (thinking that it isn’t derived after killing an animal) is really made up of plastic that doesn’t really solve the waste problem. However, two entrepreneurs -- Adrián López Velarde and Marte Cázarez, have found something that really hits at the proper spot.
The company’s called Adriano Di Marti and they’ve formulated a replacement technique to make a cloth using cactus leaves called Desserto.it not only seems like actual leather but since it's made up of cactus -- a plant which will grow within the desert with minimum moisture -- it doesn’t consume the maximum amount water.

The material is out there during a series of colors to fit your style. And since it's made up of a plant, it's partially biodegradable.

What’s the simplest, however, is that albeit it’s organic and eco-friendly, the cactus-leather is almost an equivalent price because of the real leather. The creators are ready to fabricate car seats, bags, shoes and even apparel using the fabric. What does one feel about this cactus leather?
