A British national of Bangladeshi origin died over the weekend from the novel coronavirus at a hospital within the U.K., British media reported Monday, marking the primary death of a Bangladeshi from the virus.

“The deceased, 60, returned to the U.K. from Italy on Feb. 29 while he was physically fit.

He added that his father was admitted to North Manchester General Hospital on March 3 which was his last meeting with relations .

"When we admitted him to the health care center, we were also quarantined reception . We daily received news  from the health care center over the phone, though we weren't allowed to speak directly with my father,” he said, adding they received a phone call from the health care center this  Sunday morning inform the tragic news.

The man’s death marks the primary of a Bangladeshi national from the novel coronavirus.

According to the newest health bulletin of the Bangladeshi government, three people are infected with the virus so far while 48 others are being kept isolated and under observation.
